Today i demonstrated how to safely set up and use the DJ equipment to the rest of the class
The first thing is to safely unpack the DJ rig from the case, i had to make sure that all the wires were safely tucked out of the way and made sure that the speaker levels were not too loud before we i turned them on
This is the cross fader you use this to fade from one track to the other
This is me using serato on the laptop to select and playback the tracks from
I used the hot cue function also the roll the slicer and the sampler you can get some really good mixes using these functions
Here i have a selection of cues at different parts of the track so i can always go back to that point
Here is how we monitor the level it is very important that we keep the levels out of the red to protect the speakers and out ears
This is the filter function you can create some good sounds using this and you can put some good drops in your tracks
you can use this wheel just like a vinyl and speed up or pull back your tracks also you can scratch with this just like a vinyl record
Cross fader
This is the serrato program that we used
Here i am using the headphones to preview different tracks line the up an and then mix them
In this clip i am using the auto loop and filter functions to create a cool sounding mix
This is me in the mix using the cue function and then using the jog wheel having to make sure that the mix stays tight..the video is on my desktop in the DJ skills folder
